I absolutely love that Constable Benton Frasier is a Canadian superhero. What a country (great show too).

At the ripe old age of about 14, I found myself with the biggest crush on Constable Benton Frasier. In the newspaper at the time there was an address to write him. I bit the "crossing the line" bullet and did so. In turn I received an autographed, very glossy 8 x 10 of the young Officer.

My next door neighbor also knew of my admiration of Constable Frasier and wrote for me.. I got another autographed glossy 8 x 10 (luckily a different photo)... I will cherish them both for eternity.

Top five unknown Canadian Superheroes:

* Apology Man (and his sidekick, Overlypoliteboy) - criminals fear being bumped into by them, then being delayed by the resulting half-hour litany of "I'm so sorry ... I wasn't looking where I was going ... are those sirens? ... well anyway, no really, it wasn't your fault at all, here, let me help you pick up that bag of money ... no, really, I don't mind at all, after all it was me, I'm so clumsy ... boy, those sirens are really getting loud ..."
* Multicultural Person - subdues suspects of any ethnic or religious background, differing physical and/or mental challenges, and of any sexual orientation including gay, lesbian, bisexual or transgendered persons by getting at the systemic racial and socio-economic inequities that are at the root of all crime.
* Coldenoughforya Guy - defeats crime by subjecting perpetrators to endless, banal observations about the weather.
* Roll Up The Rim Man - hangs around Tim Horton's drinking coffee and eating Dutchies disguised as his alter ego ... a police constable.
and, of course:
* The Puck - disables criminals by rocketing into their foreheads while they're momentarily distracted by that cute blonde in Section 17, third row from the bottom, no, not that one, the one in the red leather jacket, here, give me those binoculars so I can ***THUD***

If I may, I'd like to add a group of Island SuperHeroes... Mutants if you will, who will hopefully be showing up next summer in a new sketch comedy theatre show I'm currently working on with some other Islanders:

LobsterMan: His hands are lobster claws, rubber-band bound. When unleashed from the rubber bands, his claws contain the power and fury of an Alberton Legion Friday Night Brawl.

EI-365: His mutations have enabled him to work the system so that he receives Employment Insurance year round. 'Working the system' is the only work he does. His weakness, however, is that when asked questions, he can only answer "No, No, No, Yes, No."

Tuber: His hugantic head is covered in little beady eyes, which give him the ability to see things others cannot. However, his overwhelming fear of being deep-fried makes it difficult to know how much of what he sees is true.

Xena Phobes: She is an Island sex-kitten, able to drink anyone under the table. Her fear and suspision of everyone 'from away' serves her well.

Captain Backbencher: He has the ability to disappear into the background. Liberals think he's liberal. Conservatives think he's PC. The NDP think he has a chance to win a seat. All tell him their secret plans and schemes, not realizing his political ambivalence.

Wasn't all of Alpha Flight from Canada...oh, I'm sorry, you meant fake superheroes... (cuz, you know, Marvel Comic heroes are SO real...)
