This news is a few months old but certainly worth mentioning. The US Postal Service has released a commemorative stamp in honour of the brain behind the weirdly fascinating geodesic dome: inventor Buckminster Fuller. This has to be one of the finest concepts for a commemorative stamp I've seen.

Congratulations to designer Carl Herrman who also designed this fun, but not quite so incredible, Dr. Seuss stamp. Hopefully these geodesic stamps don't cause your envelope to leak...
