In the past week or so I've happened to run across a number of great posters available online (some of them thanks to the great links over at Coudal Partners). Please feel free to add to this list with your own suggestions if you've seen something recently worth mentioning.
- The Computerlove poster contest is over and some of the winners are superb. The overall winning design by Marcus Ericsson is particularly good. Look carefully for the hidden words...
- DesignBoom's history of the folding chair is an interesting project in itself. The poster that accompanies the collection is equally brilliant.
- I've always really liked the style of Pearl Jam's artwork and especially their poster design. This fan site has a fairly good collection of tour posters.

Our pal and fellow Chicagoan Jay Ryan runs The Bird Machine. Great posters there. Check this little documentary we made about the process of Jay and Mat Daly screening a poster for us.

I posted about some great late Soviet era posters last summer.

I forgot to add to my list "Finger Pointing" by Roy Lichtenstein, which is hanging on the wall leading up my steps. I had purchased it on the great poster site Global Gallery a few years ago (it appears they don't sell this poster anymore).

My home is adorned with a few Sam Brown prints and a nice print from Edward Tufte of the Spaceflight Cyclogram drawn by the Russian cosmonaut during his 96-day flight in Saylut 6.

I like the Curta Calculator Poster.

I've always loved the Before Night Falls movie poster and own a copy. Alan, those Russian posters are great btw.

On a side note, does anybody know if those Pearl Jam posters are available to buy anywhere? I know they're on the sleeve of one of their live albums (in tiny format) from that tour and that citron 68 designed them. I'd buy the whole set if I could find them - either in a book or as posters.

I've been collecting screenprints for some time now and wanted to share my list of faves. It's wonderful to be able to purchase excellent editioned pieces for $15-$20.

Just to bring it down a notch... Two guys from The Reel Poster Gallery in London have put together a book of adult movie posters from the 60s and 70s. They have the same strange appeal as the pulp fiction covers of the 50s. Adult Movie Posters of the 60s and 70s

This is high on my list of favorites. An image like it has been circulating lately, with bunnies breaking from the wave, but this poster preceded that by a good fifteen or so years.

I don't mean to flog my own site, but this is a topic very dear to my slightly obsessed heart. I've got a list of things up at my site:

Sierra Club offers (free download) four WWII-era conservation posters. The messages are eye-opening, e.g. "Should brave men die so you can drive?"

This (link) is a truly great collection of Chinese propoganda posters collected by a Dutch guy. He wrote a book about them too (link). It's an amazing collection, well worth a look.
This (link) is also pretty good

I was struck by the "Atoms for Peace" collection by Eric Nitsche when visiting the "Atomic Museum" in Albuquerque. Have been trying to track down some reproductions, but so far no dice. Any ideas?

Since there seem to be quite a few Jay Ryan fans here... Anybody have a Flaming Lips/Hum 2000 poster you'd be willing to part with? I have been looking dilligently for one. I will trade some other posters for it or make a nice cash offer. E-mail me if you can help. Thanks.
