I just keep on coming across stellar examples of favicons, so I'll keep adding to the original collection. Again, suggestions are always welcome.
I've decided to stay fairly strict with limiting anti-aliased favicons but Jason Santa Maria's makes the grade. Also, check out the accounting firm H&R Block's favicon. Exactly what you'd expect from one of the simplest and, in my humble opinion, finest corporate identities. Derek Powazek's tiny thumbnail of the layout from his site is an interesting idea too. I'm sure it wouldn't work for most websites, but his geometric structure is very conducive to it. If you haven't already, check out the full collection compiled thus far.

If it makes you feel better, I created it pixel by pixel with a 1 px brush :D

<a href="http://sidulus.firewebx.com" title="Sidulus" class="favicon"><img src="http://sidulus.firewebx.com/favicon.gif" width="16" height="16" alt="Sidulus" /></a>
There's mine. Really quite simple. Just a star.

I've actually got 2 alternate favicons which should appear depending on which part of the site you're looking at. Apple uses a similar technique for their main site and for the Developer and Support components of their site.
...nice to be included with such good company :)
