The title for this post has nothing to do with the band and everything to do with the heat. The only thing lamer than a weblog post explaining why one hasn't been posting on one's weblog is when the key excuse for such tardiness is the blinding heat. It's been over thirty degrees centrigrade now for over a week and looks like it's just going to keep on...
All that said, I've also been super busy working on the interface for a site that just launched yesterday (more on that soon) and a site for a software company in Ohio of all places. My cohort Steven Garrity is also getting married in a few short days so I've been tying up loose ends before leaving for a couple of weeks.
All lame excuses for not posting for such a long time I'm sure, but did I mention how hot it was?

I don't know if you reply to these things, but I was wondering what apps you use when putting together sites like digg and mozilla? I've been working in topstyle for a little while, since ditching the table layout for css...but its been a bit of an uphill battle. Can you recommend any apps or reference sites?
cheers,
Adrian

adrn: I use a number of tools for writing code. My primary coding app is Macromedia's HomeSite on the PC. I've used it for so long that a lot of tools are second nature. Unfortunately, it doesn't have the same handy 'tag insight' stuff for CSS as it does for HTML or it would indeed be perfect. Even then, I usually use it anyway for CSS but you end up hand-typing everything.
<p>On the Mac, I've recently really gotten into skEdit, which is a real steal for $20. I didn't think any app could be as fast for coding as HomeSite, but skEdit is awfully good. It's got 'tag insight' for both CSS and HTML. It also has built in sFTP, which is really nice for working off our servers remotely. If my iBook had the same screen resolution as my ThinkPad, I'd seriously consider using it full time.</p>
<p>Other than that, I'm mostly just using Adobe Photoshop, Illustrator, and a few other programs for very specific tasks.</p>

Nice work on Digg, something about it seemed pleasantly familiar.
