It's been a pretty dusty place around here, I can practically see the cobwebs. Over six months since I last posted anything. I've been debating starting things back up and then I thought that I needed a really good post to jumpstart the writing process. That didn't happen, so things sat idle even longer. I'll just settle for a quick recap and then try to keep the dust from settling again for a while.
The past six months have been awfully eventful. On a personal level there have been several fairly ground-shaking events, which I won't go into here. And on a professional level, I've moved to where the ground does indeed shake with some frequency... San Francisco.
Over the past year and a bit, I've been working with Kevin Rose and the growing crew at the news website digg.com on all matters related to user experience. It's been pretty exciting to be involved in such a fast-paced and successful startup. In the spring Kevin and I bounced around the idea of me joining the team more formally and he convinced me to move out to the left coast and join the staff. I'm still working on silverorange projects along with my responsibilities at digg, which is a great balance.
My experience so far in San Francisco has been incredible. Lots of cycling, tons of great food, a thriving tech community (which the locals take entirely in stride, but which this rube still finds incredible), and a fun job. I'll stop gushing and just try to write more posts that will convey this.

oooh, i love san francisco (well, the one week i spent there), i hope you do too and spend heaps of fun hours getting to know your new home.
