I can see this catching on very quickly and unseating some of the other popular social net./communication tools that have popped up recently.

Signed up for an invite, can't wait to give it a try.

The design is gorgeous. Love the color palette, logo type, and the icons. It has a new web look without looking cliche at all. Congrats on a job well done.

It is really a looker Daniel, congratulations on the superb design!

Which one of you was the one who coded the desktop client?

Brian Smith -

I said when I saw this, "finally, Twitter with a purpose!". Can't wait to get an invite to try it out to see if my comment was correct.

Daniel Burka -

Thanks everyone for your comments. Hopefully we'll send out more invites soon. There's some bug fixing to do and a couple of issues to deal with first.

Daniel Swiecki asked above who developed the desktop app. That was coded by Shawn Allen.

Daniel, very nice work on Pounce, all of it. I can't wait to see more of your work.

design for myspace -

Looks excellent, can't wait to see how it develops. Also, to avoid posting in multiple blog posts, long live PNGs! I too am pretty excited at that development.

Hope this little note finds you well, you're doing exciting work. Glad I found your blog, time to start reading back...

My name is Daniel Burka. I'm a web designer living in San Francisco. Currently, I'm the director of design with a startup called Tiny Speck and for several years I was the creative director at Digg. I grew up in PEI, Canada, where I was one of the founders of silverorange. Aside from obsessing about interface design and css selectors, I'm a frequently-falling rock climber, a lazy cyclist, and an often out-of-bounds disc golfer.
